Ever since Kaagaz was announced, the ZEE5 film has been the talk of the town for its interesting story, which was inspired by a real-life incident.

People have been waiting for the first glimpse of Pankaj Tripathi as Lal Bihari in the film, and now the wait is finally over. ZEE5 has released the much-awaited trailer of Kaagaz.

The trailer starts on a humorous note, but as it progresses, it beautifully transitions into a deeper and more emotional journey of a man’s struggle to prove to the government that he is alive and well. The trailer evokes a range of emotions as it follows the story of a man in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. This satirical comedy centers around his journey to prove that he is alive, despite being declared dead on official papers. Throughout the film, there is a sarcastic commentary on the flawed land resource system in India and the struggles common people face as a result.

Talking about the trailer release, Pankaj Tripathi shares, “I hope everyone likes the trailer as much as we liked working on the film. The story of Kaagaz is unique. I am grateful to have had the chance to play such an interesting character. Quite excited to hear from the viewers once the film premieres on ZEE5 on 7th January.”

Director-actor Satish Kaushik shares, “This film is very special for me. What started as a casual reading of an article in the newspaper has now become an integral part of my life. Kaagaz is a lot more than just a story; it’s a real-life journey of the struggle of a man. I have reinvented myself not only as a director but also as an artist. Seeing the trailer of the film filled my heart with so many emotions. I’m glad that all our hard work has paid off. I cannot wait to see how the audience embraces our film.”

On January 7th, 2021, ZEE5 will premiere “Kaagaz,” a film directed by Satish Kaushik and based on the true story of Lal Bihari Mritak.

Pankaj Tripathi stars as Bharat Lal, alongside Monal Gajjar, Mita Vashisht, Amar Upadhyay, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Imtiyaz Hussain wrote the screenplay and dialogues with Ankur Suman, Shashank Khandelwal, and the cinematography by Arkodeb Mukherjee. Salman Khan Films presents the movie with Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production, produced by Salma Khan, Nishant Kaushik, and Vikas Malu.
