Class of 2020 the successful Vikas Gupta series on ALTBalaji has broken all records. The Lost Boy Productions series has won hearts of youngsters and its success has resulted in Eka Kapoor recently announcing that the series will see four more new seasons.

Well, we at IWMBuzz.com got into a conversation with Vikas Gupta the Writer and Producer of the series and he has this to say, “When Puncchbeat became a success, I wasn’t surprised as it had everything going for it. Starting with a super popular cast, with one of the biggest budgets, and with exotic outdoor schedules, all fell in place for Puncchbeat. Whatever the team wanted, was provided.”

“When I started writing for Class of 2020, knowing that the budget of the series was around 1/10th of Puncchbeat, we had to handle and tackle a lot of things to get everything in place. The first aspect was to get on board actors who were not as popular as the ones in Puncchbeat. Also, the low budget meant that we had to be satisfied with limited locations. But what came true was Ekta Kapoor’s teaching. She had taught me that with limitations comes creativity. All that was the weakness became the strength of Class of 2020,” Vikas adds.

Vikas was in praise for almost everyone associated with the series. “Director Aarambh Singh is superb. With an actor like Nausheen Ali Sardar choosing this series as her first on the web, it was an honour. With Swapna Waghmare Joshi and A Lost Boy favourite, Rushad Rana agreeing to do the series for a token amount was indeed great.”

Vikas brought in a mix of fresh as well as known faces in the main cast. And without any exemption, all his characters have been well-accepted and appreciated. “Students Rohan Mehra and Chetna Pande are my friends who trusted me and signed the show. They have simply killed it as Ibrahim and Priyanka.”

“Sushant Tanwar who plays Hardik has turned out to be the find of the year. The amount of messages coming from fans for Hardik is simply amazing. Mazhar Khan, Joyeeta Chatterjee, and Palak have surprised even me with their debut performances. Alam Khan and Isha Chawla are scene-stealers,” Vikas exclaims.

Crediting the success to the entire team, Vikas quips, “The success is all because of the cast and crew of Class of 2020. Special thanks to Prakruti Mishra, Karan Kundra for their cameos.”

Announcing the new season, Vikas states, “Class of 2020 autumn winter is coming and so is the next batch of 2021. We are superbly excited and nervous for the year ahead at Lost Boy Productions.”

Way to go, Team Class of 2020!!
