The story features inspector Virkar, who investigates and traces a ruthless gang of young, tech-savvy miscreants who use social networking sites and the Internet for blackmail and sextortion.
As the book has been like by readers a lot and Virkar is now a popular protagonist amongst readers of crime-thrillers. Applause Entertainment has turned this book into a web series with the title Virkar vs. The Anti-Social Network.
It is being speculated that Shiv Pandit has joined the cast of this series. He is the actor who is a young heart to rise to fame with TV serial FIR in which he was cast against Kavita Kaushik. He was also seen in the Viu India web series Love, Lust and Confusion Season 2.
The series would also include actors like Simran k Mundi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Ravi Pandey of Manikarnika fame, Prateik Babbar and Mission Mangal fame Rohan Joshi in the lead roles.
According to the reliable sources Ravi Pandey will be enacting the role of a sub-inspector in the series produced by Mayavidonline productions.
Besides these well-known actors, few actors would be playing a crucial role in the series namely Tanvir Singh of Ki and Ka fame, Naghma Rizwan ( It Happened in Calcutta ) and Anjali Sivaraman of PM Selfiewallie fame.
Rohan Joshi who would be playing an important role in the series was seen last in the role of Vidya Balan’s son in the successful movie Mission Mangal. This is going to be his first crime thrillers stint. Earlier Rohan has worked in movies like Mantra, Baar Baar Dekho, Junglee and also has Alt Balaji series the great Indian dysfunctional family in his work-list.
The director of the series, Virkar vs The Anti-Social Network, is Sajit Warrier.
