Mirzapur is a crime thriller web series streaming on Amazon Prime Video and produced by Excel Entertainment. It is shot primarily in Mirzapur itself, with some shots in cities like Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. The story revolves around the rule of mafia dons, rivalry, and crimes, including drugs, guns, and lawlessness. The series stares Ali Fazal as Guddu, Vikrant Massey as Bablu, Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya and Divyendu Sharma as Munna Tripathi. The shocking incident at the wedding starts complicating the lives of two families and ignites the series. Mirzapur Season 2 is soon to be launched in 2020.
Sacred Games is also an Indian web television thriller which is the first Netflix original series in India and is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. The series is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel. The series revolves around the story of a Mumbai police officer Sartaj Singh, portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, who receives phone calls from a gangster Ganesh Gaitonde, portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Gaitonde tells Sartaj to save the city in 25 days, which chronicles the series.
