As anticipation continues to build across the trade circuit and among moviegoers for the upcoming release of The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, prominent film exhibitor and trade analyst Akshaye Rathi has offered insights into its potential box office opening and long-term theatrical prospects.
Speaking on the initial momentum expected at the domestic box office, Rathi projected a promising opening footprint for the project. “The opening of The Vvaan seems to be in the tune of anywhere between 4 to 6 crores on Day 1,” he stated, pointing toward a stable start in major circuits.
Elaborating on what could drive initial audience footprint, Rathi emphasized that the film’s core strength lies in its strong thematic foundation and cultural resonance. “It has a rooted subject and elements that it takes to actually cut across to the masses. Given the fact that it is a story very rooted in the Indian ethos and a lot of our culture and beliefs, it should hopefully find something of a connect,” he explained.
However, while traditional themes and mass appeal may secure a healthy Day 1 turn-out, Rathi highlighted that sustained box office momentum will ultimately pivot on word-of-mouth and overall film quality.
“After that, it’s purely a question of the merit of the film and the engagement value in the content, basis which the future of the film and the run beyond the first day will be determined,” Rathi concluded, noting that audience reception across the opening weekend will be crucial for its overall box office run.
The film produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta R. Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari, and directed by Panchayat-fame Deepak Kumar Mishra, The Vvaan will be released in theatres on September 25.
