At New York City’s Pacha nightclub on Tuesday, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star celebrated the introduction of the Kardashian Prepaid MasterCard. Kardashian (30), her sisters Khloe (26) and Kourtney (31), and their mother bragged to “Entertainment Tonight” about their love of splurging money while wearing a skintight garment suitably covered with sequins the color of pennies.

Kim, without a doubt, spends most of the three, according to Kourtney. Kim nodded in agreement. She once acknowledged spending $2,500 on a pair of lace-and-python Christian Louboutin boots. A prepaid credit card for teenagers as young as 16 years old was developed by Kim and her sisters in collaboration with MasterCard. The card enables parents to load it with a predetermined amount of cash and then monitor their teen’s spending habits using a mobile device.

Despite the Kardashians’ extravagant lifestyle, Mobile Resource, the business behind the card, thinks the family might encourage frugal spending among their followers. Kim just spent $30,000 on a purse. Therefore it is obvious that the Kardashians are quite wealthy, a representative for Mobile Resource told ABCNews.com. “They have no trouble paying for their expenses. They intend to bring cutting-edge technology to their fan base, giving them a way to safeguard their funds, regulate their spending, and receive immediate warnings on their cell phones.”

However, Tuesday’s party’s theme was spending money. Kim sent the following tweet to her greater than 5 million followers shortly after getting to Pacha: “Thank you for showing up to support the Kardashian MasterCard! Come shopping with me!” But the night was about using your card to get access to things that many people who have the Kardashian card certainly wouldn’t be permitted to, like $15 cocktails at Pacha and tables with a front-row seat to barley-clad go-go dancers.

It didn’t really matter if the event and the product it was advertising were incongruous, according to the hundreds of fans who flocked to the club to celebrate with Kim and company, who also filmed a scene for the upcoming reality series “Kim & Kourtney Take New York,” during the event. The only things that mattered were the Kardashians’ presence, the prevalence of alcohol, and the pumping house music. The Kardashian card isn’t the first teen-focused prepaid credit card. The Visa Buxx card was introduced in the previous ten years, and it also enables parents to deposit a set amount of money into an account. However, the Kardashian card is the first to have the support of a renowned family.

The prepaid credit card is not Kim’s first foray into commerce. She has lent her name to a variety of goods in the roughly five years since she rose to fame, including diet pills, sunless tanner, perfume, jewelry, and apparel. The hour-long ABC spectacular “25 Years of Attractive: People Magazine’s Attractive Man Alive” is next on Kim’s schedule. November 17.
