On Sunday, a couple from Junagadh traveled to Diu to go parasailing. They were ecstatic for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. However, what Ajit Kathad, a health worker at a small primary health centre, and his teaching wife Sarla went through was nothing short of a nightmare.
According to The Times of India, Ajit Kathad and his wife Sarla were parasailing off the Nagoa beach in Diu recently. The cord of their parachute unexpectedly snapped just minutes into the ride. Fortunately, neither Ajit nor his wife Sarla were injured and were able to flee the scene. The lifeguards on duty at the beach rescued them since they were wearing life jackets. The nail-biting video, which was shared by Twitter user Rahul Dharecha and has over 8k views, depicts the entire episode.
The now-viral video shows how the line linking the parachute to the powerboat snaps just minutes into their parasailing journey, leaving the pair in a precarious situation. Rakesh Kathad, Ajit’s older brother, was aboard the boat at the time the video was being recorded and observed the horror and began screaming.
“I was recording the video and had no idea what to do when the rope broke. I could see my brother and sister-in-law falling from a great height, and I never felt so helpless as I did at that moment,” TOI mentioned Rakesh as trying to say.
