Top 10 by Revenue

The sandbox game Roblox ranked first with a revenue of 75.7 million USD on the App Store in January, up 9.4% month-on-month. The game grossed a total of  28.5 million USD in revenue on Google Play, down 0.7% month-on-month.

Genshin Impact developed by miHoYo re-opened the dual card pool in January, ensuring its revenue with popular characters like Ganyu and Zhongli. In January, the game grossed 57.8 million USD in revenue on the App Store, up 59.7% month-on-month, and grossed 34.8 million USD in revenue on Google Play, up 35.4% month-on-month.

However, two of Supercell’s old titles reported decreased revenue. Clash of Clans grossed only 31.8 million USD in revenue on the App Store in January, down 17.2% month-on-month. Clash Royale grossed 30.4 million USD in revenue on the App Store in January, down 36.1% month-on-month.

Top 10 by Downloads

Let’s take a look at the downloads. On the list of most downloaded mobile games in January worldwide, casual puzzle games increased remarkably to account for 60% of all ranked games. And Coloring Match, a simulation coloring game, ranked first with 5 million downloads on the App Store in January, up 38.9% month-on-month.

Playrix’s Homescapes reported a great increase in downloads on the App Store in January with a total of  2.8 million downloads, up 100% month-on-month.

All 10 games ranked on the Google Play list were on the rise. Sponge Art, a game developed by Good Job Games, reported the greatest increase. The game was officially released in December 2021 and its downloads rose perpendicularly in January 2022 to surpass 11 million, mostly contributed by downloads from the Indian market which accounted for 56% of all its downloads in January

Top 10 by Advertising

聖樹喚歌, a game developed by Doki Studio, ranked No. 1 on the list of top mobile games by advertising worldwide in January 2022, with over 4200 deduplicated ad creatives on iOS in January.

Rise of Kingdoms by Lilith had over 6500 deduplicated ad creatives on Android in January, up 36.6% month-on-month, to become the No.1 on the advertising list on Android in January.

The Soul Guardian by YANG STUDIO recorded the greatest increase in advertising on iOS with over 1900 deduplicated ad creatives, an increase of over 253% month-on-month.
