Saree means the strip of cloth which has been worn by a woman in Indian subcontinent. It is unstitched long cloth material from 4.5 to 9metres(15-30 feet) in length and 600 to 1,200mm (24-47inchs) in breadth. That has been wrapped around the waist, with one side draped over the shoulder.

There are many different types of sarees and also they are draped in different ways also they have different names. The saree is the three piece dress (blouse, skirt, saree).

It is very easy to learn to wear a saree even for beginners. It takes only 12-15 minutes to wear saree.

Firstly you have to keep all the three-piece of saree ready before you start:

1.Saree,

2.Saree blouse.

3.Inner skirt matching with the saree colour.

4.Bobby pins.

5.Safety pins.

Step 1:

1.A Waist to floor-length skirt tied it tightly at the waist by a drawstring.

2.A tight fitting blouse that ends just below the breast

Step 2:

After step one you take the saree and tuck the plain end of the saree into the skirt for one complete turn from right to left. Make sure that the lower end of the saree touches the floor.

Step 3:

Beginning from the tucked-in end, start making pleats in the saree, about 5 inches deep.

Step 4:

Make anywhere between 5-8 pleats, depending on the material. Put the pleats into the skirt and hitch with a safety pin towards the left side of the waist. This will help the saree stay intact when you move about.
