Everyone loves some quick bits as an evening snack. Everyone would love Shawarma as it is an easy and convenient snack. The shawarma chicken is a tall authentic Shawarma marinated chicken that is spit-roasted and slow-cooked for hours and then slit down in slices and put in between the roti or the bread.

Shawarma is several layers of juicy chicken and seasoning added to the bread and made a wrap out of it. It can easily be made at home more simply but the same in taste.

Ingredients
For the Shawarma
1 kg chicken thighs boneless and skinless
¼ cup olive oil
1 lemon juiced
1 tablespoon garlic paste
½ tablespoon ginger paste
2 tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon cumin ground
1 tablespoon chilli powder or paprika
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1 tsp coriander powder
¾ teaspoon oregano dried
¾ teaspoon turmeric ground
1 teaspoon black pepper ground
2 teaspoons salt

Add Ons
6-8 Pita bread or normal roti, Beetroot and Onions(pickled preferred), Hummus or Garlic Mayo, tomatoes moon sliced and cucumbers half-moons like the beetroot, Lemon Wedges, Coriander

Procedure:

Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients spices, lemon juice and set it aside for 1 hour, and let it marinate completely.

Now in the meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220 °C, butter coat a loaf tin on the longer side to make it easy to pull out the grilled chicken later.

Now layer the chicken thighs one on top of the other so that all the chicken is tightly packed in the tin and the chicken is squeezed.

Broil the chicken for 25 minutes straight and the chicken is cooked throughout.

Grilling Instructions

Prepare the grill by preheating the grill to medium-high flame and now brush the BBQ grills with oil and place the chicken thighs on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame until golden brown, and then flip the chicken breasts and cook the other side for more 2 minutes.

Assemble the shawarma, take a pita bread or a roti and apply mayo and additional sauce of your choice, but the pickled veggies and the grilled chicken. Add more greens if you wish to and add french fries and slowly wrap it.
