Low carb diet

Low carb diet is lowering the intake of carbohydrates from your diet and to include more protein, vitamins and another low calorie, low in carb food. A very low carb diet is often ketogenic, that means that you significantly restrict carb intake to induce ketosis- which is a metabolic state in which your body uses fat for energy instead of carbs. And hence it is effective in losing those extra pounds. Low carb diets suggest you avoid foods like sugar-sweetened beverages, baked goods, candies, and sweets. Some versions of a low carb diet plan may also exclude healthy carb sources, such as grains, starchy vegetables, high carb fruits, pasta, and legumes. The diet foods can be selected to one’s liking.

Meanwhile, you are suggested to up your protein intake from sources such as fish, meat, eggs, nuts, high-fat dairy, unprocessed oils, and non-starchy vegetables, etc

Low-fat diet

Low-fat diets involve avoiding only the fat intake to less than 30% of total daily calorie count. In such diets, you have to avoid high-fat foods like cooking oils, butter, avocados, nuts, seeds, and full-fat dairy.

Instead, you’re allowed to eat natural low-fat foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, egg whites, and skinless poultry, and many other things. Low-fat foods like low-fat yoghurt, skim milk, and lean cuts of beef and pork are permitted food items in this diet to a certain extent. Carb intake is allowed in this diet and can be to a certain limit.
