Everyone is fond of traveling and exploring different places around the world. On your vacation trip, hotel accommodation plays an important role and most of the amount is spent on accommodation. It becomes very important to check whether the hotel you are staying in is charging you properly? There are a few tips to save yourself from being overcharged by the hotel you are staying at. Here we look at those tips.

** QUOTED RATES.
You should book your room online well before and take proper quotation and ensure that any hidden costs are there. Before you pay the amount, check what they have listed on their website.

** RESTAURANT BILL.
When you are taking a meal at the hotel’s restaurant, you must tally the rates. The restaurant bill is an additional charge from the room tariff. The service charges are included in GST and the hotel shouldn’t charge you extra service charges. You have the right to question them.

** EXTRA CHARGE FOR SERVICE YOU DIDN’T AVAIL.
Before paying the hotel bill, check it properly and ensure the hotel is not charging you for services you did not avail of. Always keep track of what you are using.

** WATER CHARGES.
When you eat in a hotel’s restaurant, only you have to pay for mineral water, not water served in the hotel. Few hotels might charge for normal water, which you shouldn’t pay. Also, they can charge for disposable plates, not reusable plates.

** SIGHTSEEING, PICK UP/ DROP.
Most of the hotels make arrangements for sightseeing as well as pick up and drop. Normally we need to pay those charges but we need to ensure that their charges are not much higher than what regular charges are.

Those were a few tips to check if a hotel is overcharging you. Through this, you can counter-check the bill and ensure that hotel charges are proper.
