Actress Indu Prasad is happy to have been part of the unforgettable journey, working on Bisaahee, the film directed by Abhinav Thakur and produced by Piecewing Production Pvt. Ltd. The plot of the film is based on the chilling practice of Daayan Pratha, a superstition that has affected many rural communities. Drawing inspiration from true events, Bisaahee sheds light on this deeply rooted social issue. The film releases today, 25 September 2025, in cinemas across India.
Indu plays the role of Asha, the parallel lead in the film. Says Indu about her role, “I play the role of Asha, who stands against this oppressive practice and becomes a voice. Portraying Asha was both challenging and rewarding, as it demanded not just emotional depth but also a strong social understanding.”
“Working on Bisaahee was an unforgettable journey for me—one that was both fun and deeply intense. The film is rooted in the raw realities of rural life, and it keeps the story authentic,” she says.
“What made the experience even more unique—and at times fearful—was that some sequences were filmed in a real graveyard. Shooting in such an atmosphere wasn’t easy; the silence of the night, the aura of the place, and the weight of the story we were telling added a natural tension to the scenes. While it gave the film its raw edge, it also tested our courage as actors,” says Indu as she elaborates on the great shoot experience.
“For me, Bisaahee wasn’t just another project—it was a journey into a world that demanded both emotional depth and real courage. The blend of fun, fear, and artistic fulfilment has made this film one of the most memorable experiences of my career,” she states.
Indu has featured in the TV show Ek Mahanayak Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Her breakthrough project was Disney+ Hotstar’s acclaimed web series Criminal Justice Season 2 (Behind Closed Doors), produced by BBC Studios & Applause Entertainment.
Indu looks forward to more challenging roles and is ready to test unfamiliar waters with respect to roles in all mediums as a performer.
