Ronit Roy the versatile film actor is a very inspiring father to his kids!! Ronit and his wife Neelam have two kids, Aador and Agastya. Ronit has always been a father who has been outspoken about a lot of things and sits with his kids to hear them out.
Having seen life, Ronit feels that the kids of today are far more intelligent and love to make their own decisions.
On the occasion of Father’s Day, we at IWMBuzz.com got an opportunity of talking to Ronit Roy. We got some nice anecdotes from his inspiring parenthood journey.
Says Ronit, “My life now revolves around my kids. When young, you have your car, love, career etc. Once I had my children, everything became about them. Now travel plans, housing, and even the career decisions that I make, I make with my kids in mind. Everything keeps changing. In two years, my daughter will start her college life. We are also thinking about what we should do as parents during this phase of life.”
Ronit and Neelam have been affectionate parents. “Both Neelam and I find it extremely difficult to stay away from kids. Neelam, to be particular is very attached to them. We are thinking about whether Neelam should plan to go with my daughter when she starts her college life. We have seen all of it in our married life. Now we have to see the same happening for our kids. Luckily, kids of today’s times are very intelligent and independent. Responsibilities, duty, and love of a father never end.”
Ask Ronit whether he can list out a few memorable moments with his kids, Aador and Agastya and he states, “Every day with my kids and family has been brilliant. My son one day came and told me that he wants a microphone. I never knew why he wanted it. I got him that, and he actually started recording songs. He has a musical name and his songs are now on Spotify and Apple Music. He is just 13, and he has become a rap star. Kids in this way, surprise you all the time. There are innumerable moments that bring me joy as a father. My daughter was recently talking to her College Coach, and I quietly sat in the meeting. The way she conducted herself was so good that I was left speechless.”
Ask him whether there is any life lesson that he has taught his kids during this tough pandemic phase and Ront explains, “I keep talking to my kids all the time, not only during the pandemic. Trouble does not give out any warning. I am actually happy that they have understood a lot of things during this lockdown and pandemic. They always wear masks and shields, they sanitize themselves. It has been tough for them with online schooling going on. But it is good that they have gone through it and they have learned with it.”
Ronit recalls the special pastime that his family indulges in during free time, “We sit and chat. All our phones are shut. We have a happy time talking and understanding each other out. We are a family where everyone has a different opinion. Last year, for three months, we went to Dubai. In February, they came to Nainital where I was shooting. Now, for three months, we were in Goa.”
Ronit in fact looks forward to the gifts his kids shower on him on Father’s Day. “Every day is Father’s Day. My kids usually give me amazing things during Father’s Day. They have given me trinkets, cards etc. My daughter and son get together to make cards. They have given me small books. They are all so valuable to me. I will be home on Father’s Day and will look forward to a good time with them.”
