Over the course of her profession in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif’s signature beauty style has been long, lustrous locks and delicate, soft makeup that draws attention to her delicate features. On and off the red carpet, and even on the big screen, she has consistently maintained and mastered this. The British-Indian performer has undoubtedly progressed since making her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film Boom, carving out a permanent place for herself in the business today. Kaif was constantly surrounded by cosmetics while growing up with six other girls and had started experimenting with it at a young age. In a Vogue interview, she remarked, “There was always tonnes of makeup.” To see her skill, you only need to follow the development of her beauty over time. In Boom (2003), she made her Bollywood debut as a supermodel with tumbling curls, kohl-rimmed eyes, and bare lips. In 2007, Kaif wore her most glam ensemble up to that point as she walked the IIFA awards red carpet, mixing silver and black dress with silver makeup, a lot of mascara, and extremely glossy lips.
Looking back from 2010 to 2013, it is clear that the actress enjoys dressing in her underwear. She has sported every shade of the natural lip color in both glossy and matte finishes, frequently teaming it with soft-rimmed eyes that have been heavily mascaraed. She began experimenting with bolder looks in 2014 and was spotted with glossy tangerine and crimson lips. The 34-year-old superstar underwent a major transformation in 2015, going from a dark brunette to a bold redhead, debuting a burgundy mane with a soft scarlet highlight on the Cannes red carpet.
Kaif returned to wearing black in 2016, but she also began to don a less common style—mostly blow-drying or straightening her hair. The next year, she once more embraced her texturized waves along with her trademark glossy lips and kohl-lined eyes. Her off-duty aesthetic included a radiant, dewy glow and a nude balm on her bee-stung lips. She was a card-carrying member of the minimalist club. The actor wanted a distinctive haircut that was quite different from anything she had ever done, so she changed her hairstyle too tight, with kinky curls in 2018 while filming Bharat.
Kaif debuted Kay by Katrina, her makeup line, before the end of 2019. She developed a line of lipsticks and eyeliners using what she had learned over the course of her many years in the business. It turns out that Kaif also enjoys using these two products personally. She said to us back in 2015, “I genuinely believe a fantastic lipstick shade and a flick of eyeliner have the potential to transform you. Kaif revealed in 2016 that her go-to cosmetics remained the same: “A decent lipstick, a kajal, and mascara.”
The traditional smoky eye is one of Kaif’s go-to makeup looks, which she has used on nearly all of her red carpet, award show, and commercial appearances in 2019. In the cover article for November 2019, she revealed the solution: Apply kajal to the area of your lid closest to your lash line. Then, press a thin, flat brush into a container of black eyeshadow powder. She said, “This generates an extraordinary depth.”
