Millie Bobby Brown is an English actress and model who was born on February 19, 2004. She gained notoriety when she was 13 and received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Eleven in the Netflix science fiction drama series Stranger Things (2016). In addition, she is the youngest person ever to appear on the TIME 100 list.

In a flashback during the opening sequence of Season 4, Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine), the person who nurtured and educated Eleven in the Hawkins Laboratory, makes a return. Brenner collaborates with Ten, one of the kids at the lab, after what initially appears to be a regular morning of doing the crossword and getting dressed. But during Ten’s exams, something goes horribly wrong. Brenner is knocked unconscious when the door to the room they’re in is blown off its hinges when Ten notices something is amiss. When he awakens, he enters the Rainbow Room by passing through a bloody hallway. He discovers Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who is covered in blood but still alive, there, among the horrifying, deformed bodies of the other kids.

After relocating from Indiana to California, Eleven is teased by her classmates, especially Angela (Elodie Grace Orkin). They decide to humiliate Eleven by cornering her in the middle of the roller rink, circling and mocking her, and spraying her with a milkshake in episode two when she runs into Angela and her friends while out with her longtime Hawkins friends Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp). After the incident, Eleven first runs away from Mike, Will, and Angela. Without her powers, Eleven usually hasn’t responded to Angela’s bullying, as was shown in the pilot episode. She confronts Angela and her companions later, demanding an apology, after emerging from a storage space. Eleven pursues them after they decline, snatching a skate from someone’s hand and slamming it into Angela’s face.

Eleven eventually recalls what took place during the massacre at Hawkins Lab in episode seven. Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the role of the “friendly orderly,” sometimes known as One, Vecna, or Henry Creel, informs the woman about his past as a Creel family member and how he came to work at the facility. Meanwhile, Vecna himself tells Nancy how he got to be Vecna.

Vecna adds that he started using his abilities after he and his family moved into the Creel home in Hawkins, torturing his family before slaughtering tiny animals. But after his father was detained in connection with the murders of his mother and sister, One found himself in Dr. Brenner’s care and turned out to be a lab subject. He slaughtered the Hawkins Lab test subjects after joining forces with Eleven. Eleven, on the other hand, decides not to follow him, and when he tries to murder her, she unlocks the first portal to the Upside Down and casts him inside. He changed there into the monster Vecna, who later tormented the residents of Hawkins. It’s a surprising turn of events that connects the season’s various strands, including Eleven’s past at the Hawkins Lab and the Vecna killings.
