Filmmaker Farah Khan, along with her longtime cook Dilip, paid a visit to the residence and was instantly struck by its unique character. The house carries a strong vintage appeal, with elements reminiscent of Kolkata’s classic homes blended seamlessly with Turkish-inspired touches. From statement staircases to gothic-style artwork and soft candle lighting, every corner adds depth to the space.
The living room stands out for its warm, earthy palette. Wooden furniture, antique pieces, and carefully placed lamps dominate the setting, while a pair of bold red sofas breaks the monotony and adds a vibrant contrast. The elegant staircase, combining iron and wood, became a highlight during the tour, with Farah playfully suggesting that it deserved a dramatic daily entrance.

As the conversation moved through the home, Tanishaa shared that much of the furniture holds emotional value. Many pieces have been carried over from her mother’s old house, making the space deeply personal. She recalled living in an apartment earlier and confirmed that the furniture largely belonged to her mother, adding that her father was never particularly involved in home décor.
Having moved into this house over a decade ago, Tanishaa now considers it her sanctuary. She reflected on how the city has evolved over the years, mentioning major developments such as the Sea Link as part of Mumbai’s changing landscape.
The kitchen continues the vintage theme but with practical upgrades. Tanishaa revealed that they have shifted to induction cooking to conserve LPG, adapting to changing needs while maintaining the home’s character. She also fondly mentioned that she picked up basic cooking skills during her time on Bigg Boss.

One of the most striking areas of the house is the expansive terrace. Filled with greenery, cozy seating, and intimate corners, it serves as a peaceful retreat. Tanishaa shared that her mother starts her mornings there, while the two often spend time together over tea or coffee. She also takes pride in personally growing many of the plants.
In a light-hearted moment, Farah asked about Kajol’s contribution to the house, to which Tanishaa jokingly replied that her sister funded it, adding with a smile that she “signs the cheques.”
Known for her love of hosting, Tanishaa also revealed that the terrace often becomes a lively gathering spot, especially during festive occasions like Holi, when she hosts close friends and family.
Before wrapping up, Tanishaa mentioned that she is already working on building another home, hinting at a new chapter while still cherishing the warmth and history of her current one.
