Ajay Devgn is one of the finest and most amazing actors in the country and for a fairly long time, he has been having a dream run in Bollywood. Be it comedy, action, romance, or patriotic movies, Ajay is always known to put his best foot forward to mesmerize the audience with his performance. The actor is once again back with a bang in his latest OTT release Bhuj: The Pride Of India and ever since the movie started streaming, it has been winning the hearts of many.

During a recently held group conversation with the media, when the actor was asked about why he chose to release it on the OTT platform and not wait for the film to release in cinemas, he was quoted as saying,

“Well, the project was already committed one-and-a-half years ago. We were all set to release the film in August 2020 but the process got delayed due to Covid-19 lockdown. For me, of course, theatres are theatres but the fact is that when you make a product as an actor, or director, or producer, or any technician you want maximum people to watch it. OTT is a great platform where people are getting good opportunities. So why wouldn’t one want to use this platform to good effect?”

When asked about how the Covid-19 lockdown affected his life at a personal level and whether anything changed for him or not, he further added,

“I always liked to watch a lot of content and during this entire phase, I guess I watched a lot more than ever before(Smiles). Also, I have been working in some way or the other and so my life has not changed much. We have been scripting, editing in-house, and doing a lot of work. Offices were shut but we have been working from home. Bhuj took us nearly one year, the entire CGI team put in a lot of effort, thank god it gave us time to finish and get this quality.”

Lastly, when asked about whether people will attend theatres in large numbers when relaxations in rules happen, he concluded by saying,

“Oh yes of course. A few days back, I heard that some Punjabi film of Ammy Virk is releasing and the advance booking is extraordinary which indicates people are ready to come to theatres. Let’s just hope for the best. We can’t ignore health. It is very important to be safe and I would always continue to say the same.”
