Recently, Sanjay Kapoor, the actor, and father of Shanaya Kapoor was trolled on social media for talking about his daughter’s “struggles” in the entertainment industry. A video from a promotional event for the Netflix show The Fame Game was shared on Reddit in which Sanjay can be seen discussing how his daughter had to avoid the paparazzi and travel extra to meet friends or watch a movie so that no one could take her pictures.

The comments did not sit well with social media users, who called the Kapoor family “delusional” and criticized Sanjay for counting these “basic things as struggles.” People took to Reddit to express their frustration, with one user writing, “Hume bhi dedo aisi struggle” (Give us that kind of struggle too). Another commented, “It is so tough na traveling in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes or Audi.”

The nepotism debate has been a hot topic in the entertainment industry for some time now, and many have criticized star kids for talking about their “privileges” in the name of “struggles.” This is not the first time that Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, and other star kids have been the target of such criticisms. In the past, Siddhant Chaturvedi, an outsider in the industry, has also called out such comments.

The Kapoor family, including Shanaya’s mother Maheep Kapoor, have been sharing beautiful pictures of the young actress. However, Shanaya is yet to make her Bollywood debut with the film “Bedhadak.” With the ongoing nepotism debate and such comments being met with backlash, it remains to be seen how this will impact Shanaya’s career in the industry.

It is important to note that while the entertainment industry may be more accessible to star kids, they still face their own set of challenges and obstacles. However, many argue that it is not fair to compare these “struggles” to those faced by outsiders who do not have the same resources and connections. The nepotism debate is likely to continue, and it is crucial for those in the industry to be mindful of their words and actions.
