Interviews with Bollywood stars make you cringe? There are more than you could ever conceive. However, there were times when celebs pretty much walked into the embarrassing stuff with their bizarre and, more often than not, problematic and entitled opinions in interviews. Let’s have a look.

1. Saif Ali Khan’s response to someone else’s struggle was mind-blowing

In a 2020 interview with The Bombay Journey, Saif Ali Khan commented about how he felt of Mumbai as a good “struggle city”, causing the interviewer to reveal his own story of living there.

“As for my difficulty, I used to be an assistant director and I used to stay in Malad. “The struggle for us was eating a six-rupee vada pav, taking a free bus trip if there was no money for a bus ticket, and saving the other six rupees for later,” the host explained.

And to this, Ali Khan responded with “how exotic!” without batting an eyelid. Umm, no?

2. Ananya Panday’s Roundtable Interview

Remember Ananya Panday’s battle definition? Her perspective on nepotism in Bollywood during the newcomers’ roundtable with Rajeev Masand couldn’t have been more out of touch.

“I’ve always wanted to be an actor,” she says. “Because my father was an actor, I will never turn down the chance to perform. My father has never been in a Dharma film, nor has he ever appeared on Koffee With Karan. So it’s not as simple as people make it out to be. Everyone has their own struggle and journey,” she’d stated.

It was immediately followed by Siddhant Chaturvedi’s mic drop response: “The difference is jahaan hamare sapne poore hote hain, wahin inka struggle shuru hota hain (their battle begins where our hopes are realised).”

3. Akshay Kumar’s Confrontation

Kapil Sharma’s television show has always been popular with the general public, but the comedian’s latest interaction with Akshay Kumar has gained him a few more Twitter followers.

When the Atrangi Re actor made a jab at the comic, Sharma retaliated in an unexpected way. This is what he said, leaving Akshay Kumar speechless, alluding to the actor’s 2018 interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the two discussed the leader’s favored method of eating mangoes. And to think it might have been averted if Kumar hadn’t been so arrogant. Ouch!

4. When Shilpa Shetty would not stop talking about “being famous”

Shilpa Shetty Kundra sat down with television sensation Chelsea Handler for the latter’s Netflix show, and we felt second-hand shame in our bones. One may think that a few sentences like “I adore every minute of being famous” would be enough, but the Bollywood actor certainly had more to say about the subject.

“Any performer who doesn’t want to be acknowledged has no business in this business,” she remarked. Shilpa made it even more difficult by pointing to Handler’s shocked expression, stating, “You have this shocked expression on your face!” What was the reaction of the handler? “Oh, don’t listen to what I’m saying. “All I’m doing is listening.” The gloom.
