No matter how many times celebrities try to persuade us that they are ordinary people like us, there’ll always be significant life disparities to remind us that this is wrong. There will always be a significant separation between stars and non-celebrities, whether it’s opulent advantages or odd steps that must be taken due to popularity. Have you ever been forced to alter your name because of your job? Perhaps not, but it turns out that this is a quite typical incident in a celebrity’s life. Celebrities might be told to change their names for a myriad of reasons, even something as arbitrary as the name not seeming nice.
Emma Stone is just yet another actress who has been asked to change her name, and in true Emma Stone style, she has a humorous story to go along with it.
Emma Stone’s legal name isn’t “Emma,” as it turns out, but she had to alter it in order to advance her career as an actor. According to Brittanica, Stone was named Emily Jean Stone and was 16 years old when she discovered that some other actor with the same name was enlisted with the Screen Actors Guild. She decided to switch her first name in order to stand out from the crowd.
During her early years, she stated that she preferred to be called Riley Stone. Riley was her nickname for the following six months or so. When she secured her next major TV assignment, though, everything changed. Emma had a guest position on ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’ and they used to call her Riley, but she didn’t know who they were talking to. Emma recognized at that point that she couldn’t possibly be Riley. As a result, Emily became Emma.
Emma Stone, on the other hand, claims that there is a different tale behind the adoption of her stage name, and it’s quite on-brand for her. On a 2018 edition of “The Tonight Show,” she told Jimmy Fallon that her adoration for the Spice Girls had a major influence on the name she would use officially for the rest of her life.
