Dwayne Johnson, a well-known Hollywood actor, has the image of a pleasant family man who respects women and can entice them with his swoon-worthy attractiveness. Johnson’s attempts to seduce his Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt were not originally successful, which may come as a surprise.

In a recent interview, Johnson revealed that for his upcoming Disney film, he had to make sure that Blunt was cast with him, despite the British actress’s reservations about taking the role. When Johnson learned that Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra was planning to fly to New York to hand present a script directly to Blunt, he wanted to send him along with the video as a kind of extra push, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Johnson informed the publication that he had to shoot the video five or six times because he had not spoken to Blunt personally and was nervous.

Even though he had never met Blunt, the former WWE wrestler claimed he wanted to let her know through the video how vital she was to the film and how he only wanted her in it. Although Johnson told The Reporter that he never met Blunt ever again and that she never talked. Johnson said, “Just ghosted me.” Blunt replied to Johnson’s account by saying she imagined the video was “lovely,” but she had no idea her colleague would be so “emotional.” The actress was eventually persuaded by filmmaker Collet-presentation, Serra’s, which compared the film to Indiana Jones flicks and romantic adventure films from the 1980s.
