Alia Bhatt, the Bollywood diva, is one of the nuanced, phenomenal, visionary, and trailblazing actresses who, through years of work, exceptional performances, experience, and consistent success, have carved out a niche. But her constant pursuit of international prominence often seems disproportionately unnecessary.

As we noted, Alia has consistently volunteered to present on global platforms over the past few years. For example, she drew attention to her dreamy appearance at the Met Gala in 2023 and 2024, and around the same time, she attended Paris Fashion Week. She also represented India, becoming the first Global Brand Ambassador for Gucci, and recently walked the Cannes Film Festival 2026, making headlines.

And not just that, Alia marked her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot. On one hand, these achievements are laudable; on the other hand, creating constant hype to project her as a “global star” sometimes feels overblown.

And this pursuit of global recognition seems perplexing, given that Alia, as an actress, already commands exceptional appreciation, fame, and influence in India. She does not need to make these attempts to gain recognition, as she is already an industry-defining powerhouse. Starting with Student Of The Year as Shanaya to building her image with films like Highway, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Raazi, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, she has gained major popularity as a performer with a remarkable range, commercial credibility, and cultural relevance.

Some actresses possess the combination of critical acclaim, box-office dominance, and enduring public appeal like Alia. And this may precisely be the reason why the visible craving for global validation seems abnormally intense.

Bollywood (Hindi cinema) enjoys widespread global recognition today, and Alia’s position in Indian cinema is already colossal. The actress does not need to keep making appearances on international stages to seek validation and authenticate her success, is what we feel.

This is because Alia’s strongest identity lies in being one of India’s most influential personalities. The unnecessary craving for global recognition and positioning risks diluting the authenticity and the value that originally connected audiences with her, in the first place.

In conclusion, Alia Bhatt is already a big star in India, and she does not need to chase global recognition, as she can shine here, which will eventually lead to wider recognition.

All she needs to do, is making good films.
