The public disagreement between comedian Kunal Kamra and popular podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia known as BeerBiceps has brought back the discussion about how Indian comedians should take responsibility for their work. The dispute started on February 2025 during an episode of the YouTube show India’s Got Latent which Samay Raina hosted. Allahbadia who appeared as a guest asked a contestant a sexually explicit question about their parents. The remark triggered widespread outrage which resulted in multiple FIRs and police summons for more than 30 artists including Kamra and the removal of all episodes from the internet.

In March 2026 the controversy resurfaced after Allahbadia shared a reflective note on X which expressed his disappointment about his brand losing its value and the ten years he dedicated to building it. He framed the incident as a personal and professional blow. Kamra organized a series of forceful accusations against Allahbadia which he held responsible for the negative effects that impacted the comedy community.

Kunal Kamra described Allahbadia as a “contraceptive for creativity” because he believed that Allahbadia’s “stupidity” had caused venues to withdraw their support which resulted in the cancellation of multiple stand-up performances. He accused Allahbadia of using the victimhood narrative to “milk” the controversy while the legal and professional problems he created for other comedians remained unaddressed. Kamra further dismissed Allahbadia’s work as “fraudcasting” and urged him to feel “ashamed” for the damage inflicted on the fraternity.

Kamra disputes Allahbadia’s previous apology which he announced after he admitted to making an incorrect decision because he believes the incident still adversely affects comedians. The exchange has reignited discussions about the responsibilities of digital creators and the collective impact of their actions on the comedy ecosystem.
