The matter surfaced after Nitara Kumar spoke to her parents about a troubling experience while playing an online game. What began as a normal chat with another player slowly turned uncomfortable.

Maharashtra Cyber’s Additional Director General of Police, Yashasvi Yadav, confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody after the team traced the source of the messages. He shared this update during a cyber awareness session in Mumbai.

Officials said a stranger approached Nitara Kumar during a multiplayer game. The conversation started casually, with common messages common during gameplay.

After she replied, the situation changed quickly. The stranger allegedly asked her to send inappropriate pictures. Sensing that something was wrong, Nitara Kumar immediately shut the game and went to her mother.

This step made all the difference. Her parents were informed immediately, and the matter was reported to the authorities through Akshay Kumar. The cyber team then stepped in and began their investigation, which led to the arrest.

During the session, officials also spoke about how the actor had earlier shared this incident publicly to raise awareness. He had explained how easily a normal online interaction can go wrong when dealing with strangers.

The police have pointed out that this case is a clear example of how fast online risks can grow. They stressed that children should be encouraged to speak up without fear if something feels off.

Parents, too, have been advised to stay aware of what their children are doing online, especially on gaming platforms where strangers can interact freely.

The case has now been resolved, but it leaves an important message—being alert online is no longer optional. Quick thinking and open communication helped stop the situation from getting worse in this case.
