Actor Amit Sadh and Esha Deol recently joined IWMBuzz for an exclusive conversation on The Bollywood Talk Show, where they opened up about their upcoming film Pratap, which is all set to release in cinemas on 20th November. From discussing the film’s screenplay and characters to sharing interesting behind-the-scenes experiences and personal perspectives, the actors offered several insights into the project.

During the conversation, Amit Sadh revealed that he was in Europe when he first read the script of Pratap. Despite being away, the screenplay managed to catch his attention, and he decided to come on board with a simple phone call. Talking about what drew him towards the project, Amit also discussed the film’s storytelling approach and explained why Pratap is not a dark or heavy narrative. He believes the film is something audiences can enjoy with their entire family, making it an experience that goes beyond a particular age group.

The actor also spoke about his interests beyond acting and shared details about two documentaries he is currently working on. One of them revolves around Mahila Mandal, reflecting his interest in exploring stories beyond mainstream cinema. Interestingly, Amit also opened up about his passion for interior designing, giving viewers a glimpse into a creative side of his personality that audiences may not know much about.

Esha Deol, meanwhile, spoke about her character Poonam in Pratap. Describing her as a simple and quintessential housewife, Esha explained how the circumstances around her bring out a strong side of her personality. Her character’s journey highlights how strength does not always come from being outspoken or assertive; sometimes, life itself brings out the courage within a person.

The actress also reflected on her own upbringing and how she grew up watching financially independent and strong women in her family, including her grandmother and aunts. These women played an important role in shaping her perspective on womanhood and independence. Esha further emphasised that women deserve respect, love and appreciation, a thought that adds another meaningful layer to her conversation about the film.

The conversation offered an interesting mix of cinema, personal experiences and perspectives on life. While Amit Sadh shared his excitement about Pratap’s family-friendly storytelling and his creative pursuits, Esha Deol brought attention to the strength and emotional depth of her character.

With Pratap arriving in cinemas on 20th November, audiences can look forward to seeing Amit Sadh and Esha Deol come together in a story that explores relationships, family and the strength of women.
