The film collected around ₹4.2 crore on Day 1. On Saturday, the numbers improved to nearly ₹5.1 crore. Sunday turned out to be the strongest day of the opening weekend, with the film earning approximately ₹5.8 crore. This took the three-day total to around ₹15.1 crore in India.
On Day 4, which was Monday, the film saw a noticeable drop in collections. As per early estimates, Assi earned around ₹2.6 crore on its fourth day. The fall from Sunday’s ₹5.8 crore to Monday’s ₹2.6 crore may look sharp, but this trend is common for most films after the weekend rush slows down.
The Monday test is always important for any movie, especially for content-driven films like Assi. While the drop is expected, the key factor is that the film has managed to stay above the ₹2 crore mark. This shows that a segment of the audience is still interested in watching courtroom drama on weekdays.
The total box office collection of Assi after four days now stands at approximately ₹17.7 crore in India. This is a decent figure considering the film belongs to the courtroom drama genre, which usually depends more on strong word of mouth than mass appeal.
Taapsee Pannu’s performance has been receiving positive feedback from viewers and critics alike. Her intense courtroom portrayal has been one of the film’s main highlights. Director Anubhav Sinha, known for handling socially relevant subjects, has once again presented a story that focuses more on content than commercial elements.
The film’s opening weekend numbers gave it a solid base. Now, the real challenge will be to maintain stability during the weekdays. If Assi manages to collect around ₹2–3 crore per day from Tuesday to Thursday, it can comfortably cross the ₹22 crore mark by the end of its first week.
At this stage, Assi is not aiming for record-breaking numbers but is focusing on a steady and respectable run. Courtroom dramas often grow with positive word of mouth, and if the audience response remains favourable, the film could see better holds in the coming days.
For now, Assi has passed its first Monday test fairly. The next few days will play a key role in determining how strong its first-week total turns out to be at the box office.
