An actor’s journey may seem smooth with name, fame, money, and glamour, but what one goes through behind the scenes is something that the world rarely notices. Bollywood actor Bobby Deol is among the most underrated stars who have recently started getting recognition and credits that he truly always deserved. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor talked about his career and failures while mentioning that the success of Animal left him confused.

When the interviewer Anupama Chopra asked Bobby about the character Sammar he played in the film Bandar, which leans into aspects he has seen—a washed-up movie star. He has experienced that himself in his career, especially from 2013 to 2017, for five years, when he had no release and was doing acting workshops, and asked if that has made him a better actor.

Answering the big question, Bobby said, “I totally agree with what you’re saying. I think experiences in life make you understand characters better, emotions better, you know, and going through, I mean, failure is the biggest; you learn the most from your failures, you know; it’s the biggest thing you can understand.”

He further added, “Success just confuses you. Like after Animal, I was confused; really, it’s happened, you know. But failures make you think first you give up if you’re weak, like I did in the beginning, and then I started thinking to myself, what I mean, people still love me. I walk out, I go and meet. There are so many fans who keep asking me, “When are you going to come on screen?” So it’s not like people don’t want to see me; it’s just that I have to believe in myself, work hard on myself because I have kind of given up. Try to understand myself as an actor; I have to do so much work, you know.

Bobby’s Fearless Approach For Future

Explaining his points, Bobby said, “It’s not just go there and start working, and that’s why I started trying to do acting courses. I try to do so many of these things, you know, and it just kind of… I don’t know, something just snapped in me. It was like this: something just woke me up, I think. I have become fearless. Honestly, as an actor I have become fearless; I don’t feel embarrassed if I have to do something, because I will do it the way I want to and let the director realize what he wants, and so I will do it the way I feel and not think that I’m being stupid with what I’m doing.”
