The Hindi film industry has embraced Telugu-Hindi composer M M Keeravani’s Golden Globe for Best Original Song (for Naatu naatu in RRR) as its own triumph.

Says singer Adnan Sami, “I’m extremely happy and proud. It’s a great achievement for Telugu Cinema which in turn is a great pride for Indian Cinema & indeed, INDIA!! My prayers are with the entire team to win ever award in the world, especially the Oscars!”

Adds Saif Ali Khan, “Congrats to the team ! It’s great that we are involved in international award functions.”

R Madhavan feels proud of the entire RRR team. “So very very happy for Keeravani Sir, and team RRR for doing us proud. Well and truly deserved . It’s a number that might even get me to dance and that’s huge … ha ha ha.”

Urmila Matondkar is bedazzled by the victory. “Spectacular…so well deserved. Such a humble and wonderful speech at the Golden Globes ceremony as well. Such a massive body of work and then this glory to top it all. Way to go!!!”

Hansal Mehta celebrates the belated recognition of Keeravani’s genius. “Such a proud moment. Many congratulations to him and the RRR team. He is such an underrated composer unlike many of his more high profile contemporaries. Such brilliant melodies over the years. Now for the Oscars!”

Keeravani’s cousin and Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad says the Golden Globe makes him proud on three levels. “Firstly I am proud as an Indian that our film and song have got us such global recognition. Secondly I feel happy as a family since Rajamouli is my son and Keeravani is my nephew. And thirdly I feel proud as a part of the RRR team. I think we are blessed by divinity. There are so many other equally deserving songs and films. But they don’t get the same recognition. I am always proud of my son and nephew. But this time I am a little prouder than usual.”
