An FIR was registered against the film’s location manager after a drone was used without official permission in a high-security area.

The incident occurred at Ballard Estate, a sensitive area in Mumbai, where the makers were filming an important sequence featuring actors Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal. The area had been redesigned to resemble Lyari, a locality in Karachi, for the story’s requirements.

According to reports, the problem arose when the film crew flew a drone during the shoot without obtaining the necessary clearance. The Mumbai Police reportedly acted after receiving information about the unauthorized drone activity in the area. As Ballard Estate falls under a high-security zone, drone usage requires special approval from authorities.

As per Mumbai Mirror, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the location manager, Rinku Rajpal Valmiki. The case has been registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with knowingly disobeying lawful orders issued by public officials.

Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police Pravin Mundhe confirmed the incident and stated that the location manager was taken into custody for questioning. The FIR also stated that the drone was flown without the required clearance in a restricted area, raising serious security concerns.

Police officials further clarified that, while the line producers had obtained filming permission from the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited, they failed to obtain separate authorization for drone use. This lack of clearance ultimately led to the police action.

The shoot reportedly stalled two days ago, delaying the filming schedule. Residents also raised concerns, claiming that the film crew had blocked two parallel roads—Fort-Nariman Street and Modi Street—over three days, on January 30, 31, and February 1, to carry out the shoot. The road closures caused inconvenience to office-goers and residents in the busy commercial area.

Despite the setback, the makers of Dhurandhar 2 recently revealed a new poster confirming the sequel’s title as Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The poster features Ranveer Singh in a striking look, drenched in rain and staring intensely at the camera. The background features the words “The Revenge” carved into a blood-red wall, hinting at the film’s dark, intense tone.

The sequel continues the story of Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian undercover agent who infiltrates Pakistan’s criminal underworld. After eliminating the feared gangster Rehman Dakait, Hamza climbs the ranks of the underworld and comes into the presence of Major Iqbal, a powerful ISI officer also known as Bade Sahab. The narrative focuses on espionage, betrayal, and revenge, taking the story to a much larger scale than the first installment.
