Whether in the entertainment world, women commonly face stereotypes everywhere, especially regarding their appearance. And Dia Mirza is no exception. The actress, in a recent interview, opened up about facing ageism and even highlighted that she was asked to get lip and breast jobs.
During a recent interview that is now going viral on the internet, when asked if she faced ageism, Dia said, “Of course I have. And I have been told how I should change, how I should get things done, and what I can do to enhance the way I look. And it’s always come from men. It’s never been a woman who sat me down and said, ‘Go inject your lips, your lips are too thin, or enhance your breasts, they’re too small.”
When asked if these stereotypes affected her, Dia said, “I felt inadequate. And this was after I had two beauty titles. I was young, I was a child, I was in my teen. I wasn’t even 20 yet. And it happened repeatedly. ”
Adding to it, Dia shared, “Sometimes it was a director, sometimes it was a producer. I don’t remember a woman ever telling me.”
