According to the trade publication Complete Cinema, production banner Eclatant Films Private Limited has issued a public legal notice against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) demanding the immediate settlement of outstanding dues totaling Rs. 29,67,64,000.

According to the notice dated October 15, 2026, the claimed amount comprises Rs. 11,38,92,000 in accrued interest. The financial obligations stem from an agreement signed on April 10, 2010, which was subsequently confirmed by the Bombay High Court via an order dated April 17, 2013, in Suit No. 260 of 2013.

Eclatant Films has given Varma a 15-day window—setting the deadline for on or before October 30, 2026—to clear the payments. The production company warned that failure to meet this deadline would result in the enforcement of a contractual lien over Varma’s shares, rights, titles, revenues, and exploitation rights concerning films and future projects covered under the 2010 agreement.

Furthermore, the production house highlighted that the agreement mandates Varma to secure a prior written No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Eclatant before collaborating with third parties or engaging in production, direction, writing, or other cinematic activities until the debt is completely cleared.

Third parties, producers, distributors, broadcasters, and streaming platforms have also been cautioned against entering into transactions involving Varma or his associated entities without acquiring an NOC from Eclatant Films, noting that any unauthorized dealings will proceed entirely at the parties’ own risk.

The public notice was officially issued by Eclatant Films Private Limited from their office in Andheri (West), Mumbai, on October 24, 2026.
