While the film opened strongly for a mid-budget offering, the steep daily dips suggest that sustaining audience interest may be a challenge.
The Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which hit theatres on 21 October 2025, has now completed one full week in cinemas.
The opening day brought in a healthy figure for its scale, buoyed by the Diwali holiday and audience curiosity. The first day saw around ₹9 crore (net) in India, followed by approximately ₹7.75 crore on Day 2, and about ₹6 crore on Day 3. Day 4 dropped further to around ₹5.5 crore. Day 5 offered a slight uptick to roughly ₹6.25 crore, and Day 6 came in at an estimated ₹6.75 crore — bringing the six‐day total to approximately ₹41.25 crore (net) in India.
By Day 7, early indications suggest collections of around ₹4.5-5.0 crore (net), which would push the first-week total to roughly ₹45.75-46.25 crore in India. This run, though moderate for a mid-budget romance, shows clear signs of the film losing speed after its initial weekend spike.
The drop in daily numbers reflects several headwinds: post-festival routine, stiff screen competition from other releases, and limited strong word-of-mouth beyond the core audience. While the performances of Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa continue to earn appreciation — their on-screen chemistry and the film’s music remain its highlights — the trend suggests that the film’s theatrical legs might be short.
Given its modest budget and scale, the film’s prospects now hinge less on big theatrical gains and more on how well it fares via digital and satellite platforms. If the film is to recover and earn beyond its production cost, strong off-theatres engagement will be key.
As of Day 7, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has achieved a decent first‐week collection of around ₹46 crore in India. However, the slowing pace highlights the challenges of sustaining big-screen traction for mid-budget romantic dramas over a full week — especially when initial curiosity wanes and competition intensifies.
