Amruta Khanvilkar needs no introduction! The diva is already basking in the glory of the success of her two back-to-back web series Taskaree and Space Gen Chandrayaan, and started the year with a bang. Adding a new feather to her cap of achievements, the actress-producer, now turned entrepreneur, launched her own clothing label, a saree brand named Amulya.

In an exclusive interview with IWMBuzz journalist Sweta Gupta, Amruta shared the reason behind her choosing sarees to start her venture in the clothing business.

Before starting her brand, which she launched on Women’s Day, March 8, the actress went to seek blessings at Tirupati, where she experienced the serenity, and called her plan to visit the temple God’s plan.

When asked about the risks with her new venture as an entrepreneur and how she takes it as Amruta said, “See ‘Risk Taking’ so I think in today’s time one should be risk-taking because when you do the same thing firstly it feels bored as people want to see different sides of you and I somehow, I think the whole point behind starting Amulya By Amruta was to get connected to the female audience.”

She further highlighted that she wanted to connect with the female audience, whether she be a small girl, a housewife, or a grandmother, and with that emotion, Amulya By Amruta was born. The actress also reflected on the fact that it was a risk, but since women are multitaskers and can do so much, she thought if not now, then when, so she started it.

Asking her view on the emotions attached to saree, Amruta said, “Like you said Saree is such an emotional bond between women like I have my Masi’s saree, and I used to make quilt of may grandmother’s saree so there used to be a warmth, fragrance so when a women wants to pass on her legacy either she gives the jewelry or saree and with that thought only I thought since I come from Maharashtra with a rich cultural heritage with Pathanis, Maheshwaris so why not make sarees of my choice and distribute among may fans.”
