Let’s get one fact straight. Armie Hammer who was till a month ago the most promising rising star of Hollywood, is no cannibal. He hasn’t eaten anyone. Not that we know of. Armie is supposed to have sent texts where he suggests a gourmet-like delight in the woman’s physicality. I don’t think any woman actually felt threatened by these messages, or that he ever meant to cut them up and eat them for lunch.
More importantly, not one of these text messages is from a verified account. Only accusations, no proof. Why hasn’t a single woman come forward to take Armie to court? Why is it all in the hemisphere of hearsay? And is this mob lynching enough to finish off someone’s glorious career?
Armie has been replaced in two major films.The big-budget multi-starrer Death On The Nile(which also features own Ali Fazal ) has been indefinitely postponed. They have the option of reshooting Armie’s portions. That won’t be easy. He is in combination scenes with nearly every member of the cast specially Gal Gadot. And Gal, I hear, is not willing to be seen with Armie on screen.

The company that handled his publicity has dropped him from their clientele. I hope that act of bravado got them a pat on the back. It’s so easy to pull a successful man or woman down when he or she is caught on the wrong foot. The key word is ‘caught’. Do anything you like . But don’t get caught.
Armie is just caught in an awful situation . Whether he is guilty or not is yet to be proven. But his image is tarnished beyond repair. His two little children will grow up to recognize Daddy as someone who liked to eat women. The term man-eater has finally found its gender revenge.
Nearer home in Bollywood the real big MeToo culprits are walking around free , no fingers pointing at them . One of the biggest married superstars of India allegedly paid off women crores of rupees to buy their silence about his not so professional activities. One has seen him in action. Two of his leading ladies from a film that he was shooting flanking him, giggling at his flirtatious jokes.
No one pointed a finger at him. Armie is being punished for fantasizing about eating women. There are stars in India who gobbled up young aspiring actors and actress’ career, without a burp.Someday Nargis Fahkri will tell the real story of why she quit Bollywood.
