Nykaa, the fashion and beauty retailer, needs no introduction. The platform is popular among fashion enthusiasts. And now a major update comes out — as per the reports, Nykaa owner Falguni Nayar’s FSN E-Commerce Ventures is trying to crack a deal with Deepika Padukone with her skincare brand 82°E. And this piece of news raises the question of why Nykaa wants the majority stake?
Nykaa wishes to acquire the majority stake in the skincare brand, and the reason behind this is that it will improve Nykaa’s portfolio in an increasingly competitive market.
An executive officer said, “The potential deal hinges on Nykaa’s market leadership position, cumulative beauty customer base of 42 million, and ability to build on repeat orders and scale, to help turn around the flagging 82°E.”
In contrast, Nykaa and Deepika Padukone already have an endorsement partnership, where the beauty platform announced the actress as its global brand ambassador in September 2025 in front of the brand’s signature campaigns, such as Pink Friday Sale and Nykaaland.
Nykaa, as a fashion and beauty retailer, stands out among other competitors, and it has already acquired brands like Nudge Wellness, Dot & Key, Earth Rhythm, and more. With Deepika Padukone’s brand collaboration, it will add a new feather in its cap. Also, this will help Deepika Padukone’s brand expand.
