It’s an age-old patriarchal tradition in our films to change the heroines in sequels while the heroes remain the same. Hence when Sanjay Dutt went from Munnabhai to Lage Raho Munnabhai he did not take along Gracie Singh into the future.

The list of films where the heroines have been dropped in sequels, is endless. We can add one more name to the list with Anees Bazmee’s No Entry Mein Entry, the sequel to his 2005 hit No Entry.

While the heroes are still the same after 17 years, and Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan(now looking ten years younger than he did a year ago) are back, their leading ladies Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutt,Celina Jaitley and Esha Deol are not going to be any part of the belated sequel.

Sources very close to sequel say the producer Boney Kapoor and director Anees Bazmee are looking for younger more contemporary heroines for our three heroes, all in their 50s and 60s now.

Some names being suggested are Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Pandey and Parineeti Chopra. But apparently they all want to be paired with Salman Khan.

Interestingly this is Anees’ second immeasurably-belated sequel after Bhool Bhulaiya. Bhool Bhulaiya 2 came 15 years after the original No Entry Mein Entry beats the record: it comes after 17 years when the world has changed. But the heroes remain the same.
