The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition against the upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, giving a green signal to its release. A division bench comprising Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh reviewed the teaser and trailers and found nothing offensive or derogatory in the content.

The petition was filed by Jay Vardhan Shukla, who argued that the film portrays the legal profession in a poor light. According to him, the teaser and trailor, widely shared on social media, have already demoralized lawyers and damaged the reputation of the judiciary. He claimed that the film would discourage potential candidates from entering the legal profession and shake the lot of law students with doubts.

But Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey for the government submitted that the petitioner had not pursued his concerns by due procedure. It was his submission that under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, any aggrieved person has to approach the platform or the publisher first, and thereafter, he may approach the Court. The Court agreed and dismissed the matter.

This is not the first time Jolly LLB 3 has faced legal trouble. Earlier, actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi were summoned by a Pune Civil Court in another petition related to the same film.

Despite the controversy, Jolly LLB 3 remains on track for release on September 19, and the makers can now breathe a sigh of relief following the court’s decision.
