Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the Kannada period drama ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ continues its spectacular run at the box office. Despite the film seeing a slight dip after two weeks, it earned an impressive amount on the 15th day. And after a successful 15-day release, the film earned around 485.25 crore, nearing the 500-crore mark in India.
With the grand opening of 61.85 crore, Kantara Chapter 1 earned a massive 337.4 crore in the first seven days of release, while the film made a business of 147.85 crore in the second week. And the collection reached 485.25 crore in the first fifteen days of the release. Though the numbers are impressive, the film witnessed a slight dip on the fifteenth day, earning 8.85 crore, while the film earned 10.5 crore on the fourteenth day.
With the strong hold at the box office, ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ is likely to make and break new records. While global collection has crossed the 500 crore mark, domestic collection is steadily approaching it.
With strong word of mouth, an excellent cinematic experience, mythology, drama, and action, Kantara has become a cult favorite among audiences, and it seems it’s just the beginning of success. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in important roles.
