Kareena Kapoor Khan shared in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, saying that if someone has children, it is important for them to have the freedom to communicate their work preferences openly. “If you have children and as a mother you’re not able to give that much time, you should be allowed to have that freedom to express that to the producers well in advance,” Kareena said.
She explained that as a mother, she also understands the need to set boundaries. “While my babies are a priority, Saif and I decide together who will be working, how much time will be spent on shoots, and everything else. The important thing is to discuss with your team, director, and producer before any movie-making starts, so everyone knows the boundaries,” Kareena added.
Actress Ananya Panday, who has worked with Deepika Padukone, also defended her approach. Ananya said she had met and worked with Deepika before, and that Deepika has always been professional and committed on set. She added that after becoming a mother, certain things naturally require more attention, and it is perfectly normal to adjust schedules to manage both family and work effectively.
Many believe that encouraging open communication and setting clear boundaries can make it easier for parents to continue their careers without compromising their family time.
Kareena Kapoor Khan herself is an example of managing motherhood and a successful film career simultaneously. She emphasizes that there is nothing wrong with discussing limits and requirements with producers and directors before beginning any project. According to her, this not only makes the work environment smoother but also ensures that the actor can give their best performance without feeling overburdened.
As more actors speak openly about balancing work and family life, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s and Ananya Panday’s support for Deepika Padukone emphasizes that respecting personal boundaries is not a limitation—it is a professional and responsible choice.
