Scarlett Johansson is skyrocketing with her career, taking one step at a time. The actress who recently successfully helped revive the Jurassic World franchise, following the instalment Jurassic World: Rebirth, which collected $869 million worldwide. With that, she now becomes the perfect fit for the horror franchise, The Exorcist.

According to Deadline reports, the new instalment shall not act as a sequel to The Exorcist: Believer. Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Morgan Creek Entertainment and Flanagan shall bankroll the film. The script shall be written under Red Room Pictures Banner.

Speaking of Scarlett Johansson’s involvement in the project, Mike Flanagan stated, “Scarlett is a brilliant actress whose captivating performances always feel grounded and real, from genre films to summer blockbusters, and I couldn’t be happier to have her join this Exorcist film,” per Deadline.

For the unversed, The Exorcist: Believer could not perform well worldwide, stacking $65.5M U.S. in Canada and $136.2M globally. Keeping the records, reportedly, they picked Scarlett Johansson to revive the story once again, given her spectacular bankable performance in Jurassic World.
