The controversial figure was arrested in connection with a January 18 incident at Nalanda Society in Oshiwara, where residents reported hearing gunshots late at night. Police investigations showed that two bullets had hit the residential structure because one bullet ended up inside a writer-director’s second-floor apartment, which another bullet passed through to reach a model’s fourth-floor apartment.

Khan police arrested him at his studio during the late hours of Friday night. The police found out that the 56-year-old actor turned critic had confessed to using his licensed weapon to fire between two and four shots. He declared that he had tested his weapon to verify its operational status when he accidentally discharged it because he wanted to test its performance.

The authorities have taken the weapon from Khan, who faces charges that stem from both the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. He will go to a local court for his hearing today.

Khan has a history of legal troubles. The authorities detained him at Mumbai International Airport in August 2022 because of his offensive social media posts, which he created in 2020 about late actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. The following month, he was arrested for a 2021 molestation case but was later released on bail.

KRK maintains his status as a divisive presence in the entertainment world through his theatrical reviews, which attract attention, and his explosive comments on social media.
