With the future of movie-theatre business plunged into deep uncertainty many, Bollywood producers are now thinking of releasing their pending films on the digital platform.

However, Reliance Entertainment has taken a decision to not release its two pending films Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi and Kabir Khan’s’83 on the portable platform.

A source close to the development says, “They will wait. They can afford to. Sooryavanshi and ’83 are the kind of films that will bring back the audience into the theatres after the pandemic. These are strong star-oriented products and solid testing grounds to regain the confidence of the theatre-going audience.”

Informed sources say Sooryavanshi is now looking at an Eid release while 83 may go to Diwali. As or some of the other potential big-screen blockbusters like Laal Singh Chadha and Gangubai Kathiawade and Brahmastra, they may be carried over to the next year, depending on how long the virus plays the villain.
