The news was confirmed by Suneil Anand’s niece, Gina Narang, who shared an official statement on behalf of the family while requesting privacy during this difficult period.
“With heavy hearts, our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand. We are comforted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, for which we are truly grateful. We kindly request privacy as we navigate this difficult time together,” the statement read.
Born to legendary actor-filmmaker Dev Anand and actress Kalpana Kartik, Suneil Anand grew up surrounded by cinema. Despite being part of one of Bollywood’s most iconic families, he maintained a relatively private life compared to his father’s enduring stardom.
Suneil Anand made his acting debut in 1984 with Anand Aur Anand, a film directed by Dev Anand. The father-son project introduced him to Hindi cinema, carrying forward the Anand family’s rich cinematic legacy. While his acting career remained brief, he remained closely associated with the family’s contribution to Indian cinema.
His passing comes as a significant loss for admirers of the Anand family, whose influence on Bollywood spans generations through memorable films and timeless performances. Dev Anand, regarded as one of Indian cinema’s greatest stars, left behind an extraordinary legacy, and Suneil Anand remained an important part of that legacy.
The family has not yet announced details regarding the last rites. As condolences continue to pour in, the Anand family has sought privacy while mourning the loss of their loved one.
