Supporters of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), from Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district, reached out to the police to seek help regarding the leak of Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan. The supporters accused a local cable TV operator of leaking the footage of Vijay’s film.

According to the reports, the supporter shared that Jana Nayagan was leaked on Rasi Prime Movie, a local TV channel, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. They also noted that the footage was telecast for 21 minutes at night, after which they approached the police around 11 PM and eventually filed a complaint. While the police assured that an FIR would be registered by Sunday morning, on Sunday they said a separate wing was investigating the matter and that they hadn’t issued a CSR.

In the same case, six persons have been arrested for leaking Jana Nayagan, the upcoming film starring Thalapathy Vijay. The cyber police confirmed the arrest on Sunday, April 12.

However, as per the reports, the accused uploaded and circulated pirated copies of the film through cloud storage platforms, and now they have been booked under the provisions of the IT Act, the Copyright Act, and the Cinematography Act.

Following this, the police have warned the public not to download, stream, or share pirated versions of Jana Nayagan, as this may land them in serious trouble.

Jana Nayagan is likely to be Vijay’s last film before he fully steps into politics. It was set to release in January 2026 but has been delayed due to censorship issues (CBFC) and legal challenges.
