Following an excellent opening day, Thamma has maintained solid momentum at the box office on its second day. Released on 21 October 2025, during the peak Diwali weekend, the film opened to a massive ₹24 crore (net) on Day 1 — one of the highest for Ayushmann Khurrana and among the top horror-comedy openings in recent years.

Day 2 was critical in determining the film’s sustainability beyond the initial buzz, and Thamma seems to have passed the test.

Trade analysts had predicted a possible drop due to post-Diwali day fatigue, but the actual dip appears to be moderate. According to early trade estimates, the film earned approximately ₹19 to ₹20 crore (net) on Day 2. This translates to only a 15–20% drop from its opening, which is considered healthy, especially in a genre like horror-comedy that thrives on word-of-mouth.

Positive audience feedback, catchy music, and the mass appeal of Ayushmann-Rashmika’s pairing seem to be helping the film retain its audience. Multiplexes in urban centers and family crowds in Tier 2 cities have contributed significantly to the Day 2 numbers.

With this, Thamma’s two-day total stands at ₹43 to ₹44 crore, positioning it as a strong Diwali performer. If this momentum continues, the film could easily cross ₹75 crore by the end of its first week and emerge as one of the biggest post-pandemic hits in its genre.

Thamma has set a promising tone for the Diwali box office, and all eyes are now on its weekend growth.
