A Two-Week Run That Loses Steam

The Taj Story, led by Paresh Rawal and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, entered its 15th day with hopes of at least a minimal weekend revival. However, the film’s collection remains unchanged, standing at nearly ₹16.82 crore after 15 days. Day 15 has shown no measurable footfall, indicating a halt in its theatrical momentum.

The film, which initially had a promising urban appeal and strong word-of-mouth in select areas, has now seen its box office traction decline considerably.

Urban Multiplexes Hold, But Not Enough

The movie’s core audience—largely urban, multiplex-going viewers—offered support during the opening weekend, helping the film record a respectable start. But in the days that followed, the decline became rapid.

Smaller centres and single-screen circuits barely contributed, making the film heavily dependent on limited metros. This uneven performance prevented The Taj Story from expanding its reach or growing its numbers beyond its niche base.

Why The Numbers Have Plateaued

Weekday drops were sharp, and by the second week, the film had little left to hold onto. With almost no reported collection on Day 14 and now Day 15, the film appears to be in a no-growth zone.

Several factors contributed to this stall:

* Front-loaded business with early interest but weak long-term pull

* Limited commercial mass appeal

* Strong competition from other releases and OTT buzz

* Narrow demographic reach

Third Week Outlook: Minimal Chances of Revival
With the film entering its third week, the possibility of a rebound seems unlikely. Even crossing the ₹17 crore mark will depend on whether any late-week reporting or minor footfalls appear.
At this stage, The Taj Story stands as a content-driven film that connected with a specific audience segment but could not translate appreciation into sustained box office numbers. It’s run now looks set to close with modest earnings, marking a respectable yet limited theatrical journey.
