Delhi’s pollution crisis is getting worse by the day. Marking 19th November, 2025, the air quality remained very poor according to reports. According to a report by The Hindu, the AQI reading on 19th November was 391. The Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) Sameer app also showcased 18 of the 38 stations that recorded AQI readings in the severe category. With this crisis getting all out of hand, we saw the legendary actress Zeenat Aman attend the exclusive screening of the documentary Embers of Hope: The Fight for Our Future, shedding light on Delhi’s climate crisis.

Talking about the concerns, Zeenat Aman told NDTV, “My fear is the same as every parent out there-that we have created an uninhabitable atmosphere for the next generation. One that is not so slow but is surely poisoning them. It’s quite mind-boggling that we as a nation aren’t addressing air pollution more seriously. And the conversation isn’t restricted to Delhi at all; most of the world’s most polluted cities are in India! What a tragic badge to wear. I suppose it will take a combination of public pressure and political urgency if we are to turn the tide.”

She also added how soon after she landed in the capital, she suffered from scratchy throats and watering eyes. She said, “Within a few hours of landing, I had a scratchy throat and watering eyes. Bombay isn’t much better, and I often find myself in a haze of construction dust. The right to clean air is no longer a right; it is a rare and often expensive privilege.”

Adding on to it, Zeenat Aman noted that the youth today are far more aware of the ongoing climate crisis. Saying, she said, “I think today’s youth is far more educated about the climate crisis and environmental issues than the generations before. Young adults are contending with a terrifying and unstable world that is not of their making. We, older generations, need to pull our weight and be accountable for the world we have created.”

Coming back to the documentary, the series collaborates with Warner Bros Discovery. Back on November 16th, it premiered on several platforms. The series vows to bring immense awareness of climate changes and the environment.
