We still get delighted when we hear about a new project featuring Nina Dobrev, who has graced our television screens for the past two decades. Dobrev has been busy since the release of her new romantic comedy, Love Hard, but she took a break from the craziness to explain the basic everyday makeup regimen she swears by in her new video for Allure. The best makeup looks begin with a healthy base, as any beauty aficionado will tell you. Dobrev likes to start by applying a few drops of Dr. Barbara Strum’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum to her face. She then uses Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, which has a blend of nourishing omega fatty acids and antioxidants.
Sunday Riley’s C.E.O. 15 percent Vitamin C Brightening Serum is the last serum she uses, and it gently exfoliates the skin to reveal smoother, brighter skin. Dobrev moves on to the lips once the skin is suitably dewy and supple. She continues, “I have this wonderful Laneige [mask].” “Although this is a sleeping mask, I wear it all day, every day. Especially on airlines because it’s so drying on a plane, and this is so delicious and smells so lovely.” Dobrev prefers a dewy complexion, so she uses the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer to cover dark circles under her eyes and the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation SPF 35 to achieve it. The actress first dabbed the foundation on her hand before delicately dabbing it on her face with her trusty Beautyblender.
Dobrev conceals her face with two concealers, which may surprise you. The end look is satin-like, not cakey, because both formulae are lightweight despite their full coverage. She then employs an unusual method, sweeping the brush across her jaw and down her neck. She does a few rapid swipes to finish her base. Dobrev uses the Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel to set everything in place after filling in the sparse parts with the Brow Pencil. In a matter of minutes, the finishing touches to her outfit are complete.
