Fat-shaming is a big problem these days, and people are frequently subjected to online trolling because of the rise of social media. Vidya Balan is one Bollywood celebrity who has demolished all notions about ‘body,’ ‘body weight,’ and ‘weight loss,’ as well as how they are all intertwined. The Tumhari Sulu actress has shown the globe that a person’s ‘body’ has no bearing on their professional accomplishment in the field. In an interview with Filmfare, Vidya Balan opened up about her battles with body image, hormonal disorders, and fat-shaming. “I’ve had hormone problems my whole life,” Vidya said of her own life.

“It’s most likely due to the judgment I’ve carried around with me. People used to tell me when I was a teenager, “You have such a nice face; why don’t you drop some weight?” It’s not a pleasant thing to say to someone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a kid or an adult. So I’d starve myself, follow wacky workout routines, and lose weight. The hormonal issue would then go away for a while before reappearing. I believe it was my body’s way of rebelling since I was continuously rejecting it because I wanted it to be something it wasn’t.” “There’s no machine as smart as your body,” the Dirty Picture star continued, referring to her weight reduction regimens and how she stopped looking at the monitor after her shots once she stopped looking at it.

“It’s the only machine that understands emotions. So I’ve always felt overweight, even when I was at my lightest. For as long as I can remember, my pattern has been weight loss, weight gain, weight loss, and weight increase. Years ago, I stopped glancing at my images on the monitor during shoots because I’d wonder to myself, ‘Am I appearing fat?'” Vidya Balan has progressed over the years, and as a result, she has continued, “I no longer do. But accepting my physique has taken a lot of effort. Ironically, hormonal problems are caused by one’s own rejection of one’s body. I suppose it’s a case of chicken and egg. Who knows which came first: the chicken or the egg?

As a result, even if I can persuade just one person that it’s fine to be exactly who you are – slim or overweight – it will be beneficial. That’s probably why I keep shouting from the rooftops in every interview, at every chance I have, to persuade people to embrace themselves as they are. But, as previously stated, it is not simple.”
